Global Art Exchange

3rd Standard boys eager to deliver art supplies

Snehalaya English Medium School has been invited to participate in "We Are One: A Global Art Exchange" with young students from Wisconsin, USA organized by Jessica, a visiting volunteer.  Each of our students is creating a unique piece of art which will be gifted to American students.  In turn, the students from USA will be sending their masterpieces to us.  Our students are enjoying this opportunity to learn, share, express themselves and connect globally.

Standards 1-3 have completed the project.  Please enjoy a glimpse into their hard work and creative process.

Hello fromLinda

Hi everyone,
My name is Linda and I have been helping Sarah with the grant application so we are thrilled that we have been awarded the funds to go ahead with the project.
Your photographs of the children are lovely! Lots of pictures of the boys so it would be nice to see some more of the girls as well.
I will try to post a picture of myself next time so that you can see what I look like!
The weather here is terrible at the moment. It is our Easter holiday but we have thick snow everywhere and it is bitterly cold. Many houses in Scotland, Wales and Ireland have no electicity and people are finding it hard to keep warm. I am sure the weather is much warmer for you - I hope so!
Although I am a teacher at Welland Park College my form are in Year 9 so they won't be involved with the blog but I look forward to reading it myself and seeing the lovely smiling faces of the students.
Sending you very best wishes and looking forward to hearing from you.
Linda

Hello!!!!  We are a group of 11 and 12 year-olds and we live in Market Harborough in England.  My name is Mrs Edwards, and my class would like to introduce themselves and their school....
Welland Park College is a really good school.  It has lots of modern things and lots of old things.  It is near the town and very local.  It's a nice  school and everyone is very polite.

Market Harborough is a small town in Central England.  It is quite a busy town and has lots of houses and people.  It has lots of buildings, like Leisure Centres and Parks.  It's a great town!!

The weather in England is very cold but can be sunny.  Our capital city is London.  this is where the Olympics were in 2012.  Our country has held the Olympics two times.

At school we have 5 lessons a day and we do lots of different activities.  Some of our favourites are PE, Design, German, and lots more!  School starts at 9am and our first lesson runs for an hour and then we have a 20 minute break.  Two more lessons then it is lunchtime.  After that we have two lessons in the afternoon and school ends at 3.20pm.

There are lots of clubs that we can do at school, like music, art, cooking, sport and many more.  We all enjoy school and like the fact that we can go to extra clubs!

In 7DEW there are 27 boys and girls.  We all have lots of different interests and hobbies.  Some of the things we like are sport, music, reading, acting, dancing, motorbikes and much more!!

We hope to hear from you soon and we hope you have found our post interesting.
